Partner/Funding Organisation
Agricultural Activity
This activity started in 2013 in three of the partner schools with the aim of using organic agriculture as a learning opportunity and to contribute to making the schools financially self sufficient. The children are introduced to the importance of agriculture and the children encourage their parents to make better use of their smallholdings and will help them to increase their income.
The introduction of agriculture will also broaden the choice of subjects for those children in their higher education.
In order to support the three schools to effectively implement the agricultural activity, Mondo Challenge Kalimpong provided a variety of support such as constructing a polyhouse at each school, providing agricultural training by experts and supplying production inputs such as seeds and seedlings.
