Why volunteer with Mondo Challenge Kalimpong?
Support from volunteers is essential to our efforts to assist the partner schools in poor rural areas of Kalimpong and Darjeeling, India.
The advantage of volunteering with Mondo Challenge Kalimpong is that you can have an authentic and unforgettable volunteer experience in a scenic, rural village populated by Nepali-speaking ethnic groups. These villages still retain traditional life styles, cultures and values, thus many previous volunteers have been extremely delighted to have first-hand experience of local cultures in non-tourist settings. Our volunteers are overwhelmed by the friendliness and hospitality of these communities.
By staying at a hospitable local host family, often a teacher of our partner school, you will be quickly integrated into the local community. Your dedicated contribution to the school will be highly valued by the school and community since many of our partner schools lack resources to provide quality education and in particular good spoken English teaching. Through the formation of special bonds with the community where you work, your stay at the village and volunteer experience is very likely to be a fruitful experience that will positively impact your perspective on life!
