The small schools where we work are often flimsy constructions built in local wattle and daub, precariously located on hillsides and vulnerable to monsoon mudslides. Others, more solidly built, are being rapidly outgrown by increasing pupil numbers; a symptom of the success of our education programme.
Little by little we have helped to add classrooms to some schools and to put up entirely new buildings where needed for others.
School Construction Activity
Upgrading school infrastructure has also enabled some of the partner schools to meet the official school infrastructure standards required for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), therefore these schools are currently in the application process for gaining the desired status.
Mt. View at Burmaik, New Rise at Kashyem, Love Buds at Munsong, Pioneer Preparatory School at Sindebong, are among our partner schools where entire new school buildings have been constructed. Apart from this many other schools such as Magno Vale at Sukhia, Lotus at Pedong, Sacred Heart at Pokhriabong, have been provided funds for adding classrooms, repairs, teaching aids etcetera.
